BulkSMS Privacy Policy


At BulkSMS we recognise that your privacy is important. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the BulkSMS website and messaging platform, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies both to our account holders and to the people whose details are sent to us so that we can deliver messages.

Information We Collect
We collect the account details you give us when you register and use the service — such as your name, business name, email address, phone number and billing information. To deliver your messages we also process the content of those messages and the recipient numbers and contact details you upload or enter. When you use our website and platform we automatically record basic technical information, such as your IP address, device and browser type, and log data about how the service is used.

Protection of Database Information
Any information sent to BulkSMS for text messaging and or storage purposes will remain the property of the account holder. BulkSMS will at no time collect, redistribute or sell this information, except where legally required by law to do so. This is with particular reference to any database, numbers and/or recipient details that you may deliver to us, or store on our databases.

How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide and operate the service — to deliver your messages, process payments, and provide support — and to keep your account secure. We also use it to prevent fraud and misuse, to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations (including telecommunications and anti-spam rules), and to maintain and improve the platform. We do not use your recipient lists or message content for our own marketing.

Disclosure of Your Information
Our business is to deliver your messages on your behalf. To deliver a message we must pass its content and the recipient’s number to the third-party carriers and mobile network operators that transmit it — within Australia, and overseas for international messages. This hand-off is a necessary part of sending any SMS or MMS. Apart from delivering your messages we will never use your data for any other purpose, and we do not sell or rent any personally identifiable information about you to any third party. Beyond the carriers, we share information only with the trusted service providers who help us run the service (for example payment and hosting providers) under obligations of confidentiality, and where required by law or to protect our rights, our customers, or the integrity of the service.

Data Security and Retention
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We keep account and message records only for as long as we need them to provide the service and to meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations, after which they are deleted or de-identified.

Your Choices
You can access or update your account information at any time by signing in, or by contacting us. You may ask us to correct or delete personal information we hold about you, subject to any records we are required to keep by law. Message recipients can opt out of further messages at any time by replying to unsubscribe or using the opt-out link in a message, and we honour those requests.

AI Assistant (MCP) Connector
SMS Manager offers an optional connector that lets you use an AI assistant — such as Claude or ChatGPT — to work with your own SMS Manager account by chatting with it. Using the connector is entirely optional and off by default; it does nothing until you connect it and sign in.

You connect the assistant to SMS Manager using OAuth 2.0: you sign in with your existing SMS Manager account and approve the access the assistant is asking for. Your SMS Manager password is never shared with the AI assistant or its provider, and the connector only ever accesses your own account.

When you grant read access, the assistant can retrieve your credit balance, incoming replies and messages, message delivery status, and your saved contacts and contact groups. When you grant send access, the assistant can send SMS and MMS messages from your account, which uses your account credits and contacts real recipients. Read access and send access are granted separately, so a read-only connection can never send on your behalf. Sends remain subject to your account’s blocked numbers, credit limits and sender-ID rules.

The connector never exposes your password, your API keys, or any other customer’s data to the assistant.

When you use the connector, the AI assistant’s provider (for example Anthropic for Claude, or OpenAI for ChatGPT) receives the content of your requests and the tool responses as part of your conversation with the assistant, handled under that provider’s own privacy terms. Messages you send through SMS Manager are passed to our SMS and MMS delivery providers in the same way as any message sent through the platform.

You can review every AI assistant connected to your account, and remove any of them at any time, from the Connected Apps page in your SMS Manager account. Removing a connection immediately revokes the assistant’s access. Authorization codes and access and refresh tokens issued for the connector are short-lived and are automatically purged after they expire or are revoked.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or to legal requirements. Any updated version will be posted on this page.
